 DO understand that Muslims are forbidden from eating pork and drinking alcohol
 DO understand that dating, common law marriage, abortion, homosexuality are forbidden in
the Muslim religion
 DO talk about Jesus (they have great respect for Jesus as a prophet)
 DO remember that Western culture is NOT 100% Christian (they think all westerners are
Christians)
 DO know what YOU believe (strong Biblical knowledge)
 DO have some knowledge of Islam
 DO use the Word of God as much as possible
 DO provide literature (tracts, videos, books, Bible in their own language)
 DO invite them to some church event (VBS, picnics, Bible Study or ESL classes, later to a
church service)
 Do invite them to your home (when friendship is developed)
 DO always be respectful (even if their practices seem weird)
 DO ask friendly questions (about their country, culture, faith, etc.)
 DO avoid politics (if their country is in the news, show concern)
 DO use common English language terms
 DON’T start a discussion about the Trinity (they have a hard time understanding the Triune
God)
 DON’T initially use the term Son of God for Jesus unless you explain it first
 DON’T treat the Bible with disrespect (never place it on the floor)
 DON’T talk about other Christian denominations (they think Christians are divided)
 DON’T have your dog in the place where you have invited your Muslim guest (this is for some
devout Muslims, cats are permissible)
