Product Information Sheet MECON DM-I The penetrator/Dry Mate connector (DM) is a vital part of the high voltage cable termination system, and can be used in pressure compensated systems, and as pressure barrier to penetrate shells with differential pressure. It is used to connect high voltage power cables to subsea electrical equipment, mainly subsea motors. The penetrator and cable are made up prior to deployment. MECON DM-I has the maximum rating of 12kV/600A, and its housing is pressure compensated. Design Features · The pressure barrier for MECON DM-I is a glass sealing plug which is molded into the penetrator housing · MECON DM-I complies with all IEC standards for high voltage equipment, and is verified by SINTEF energy research · Pressure and thermal shock tested MECON DM-I Applications Product Information Sheet Use in subsea electrical power systems to penetrate through high integrity barriers from a seawater environment to a clean, di-electric fluid filled enclosure; such as into: · Subsea electrical submersible pumps motors · Subsea VSD high power compartments · Subsea switchgear · Subsea distribution transformers Technical Information Voltage rating U0/U(Um) Current rating @ 50 Hz and 20°C Water depth rating/design Rated dif. pressure motor side Rated dif. pressure water side Maximum cable size Pd test <10pC AC withstand 4 hours Impulse voltage 1.2/50µs 30 Thermal cycles Short circuit Weight per phase Diameter and length per phase [kV] [A] [m] [bar] [bar] [mm²] [kV]* [kV]* [kV]* [bar,A,kV]* [kA]rms [kg] [mm] 7.2kV Pen. 3.6/6(7.2) 600 2000 345 125 240 6.2 14.4 60 125,660,9 10 25 Ø180,500 12kV Pen. 6/10(12) 600 2000 345 125 240 10.4 24 75 125,660,15 10 25 Ø180,500 * All test voltages are phase-ground values.
