LINES, SEGMENTS, and RAYS
A line segment is a straight line with 2 points that
mark the end of the line segment. A line that goes
from side to side is called a horizontal line segment.
A line that goes up and down is called a vertical line
segment.
Intersecting lines are lines that cross. The
point at which they cross is called the point of
intersection.
ANGLES
TRIANGLES
The sum of all the angles is always equal to 1800
QUADRILATERALS
The sum of all the angles is always equal to 3600
Quadrilaterals are polygons with 4 sides.
Squares and rectangles are special
polygons with all right angle corners.
Circles are special shapes with all dimensions
equal around the center point. A line through
the center point from side to side is the
diameter. A line from the center point to an
edge is the radius. The distance around the
circle is the circumference.
SOLIDS
The sides are called the face. Where the faces meet are called the edges.
Where the edges meet are called the vertices.
These solids have flat faces that are polygons

A sphere is a special solid with no faces, edges, or vertices.
CONGRUENCY
These are the same size and shape
These are the same shape, but different sizes
POLYGONS
Polygons are made up of connecting line segments
In rotational symmetry the shape covers
itself two or more times as it rotates

SPECIAL SIMILARITY
Similarity can also be
Similarity can also be
by measuring each
angle: If they are equal
the triangles are similar.
