PROVIDING EXCEPTIONAL CARE OF THE EAR, NOSE,
THROAT, AND HEAD & NECK
Established in 1820 the Department of Otolaryngology/Head &
Neck Surgery is the first training program in this specialty in the
Western Hemisphere. Over nearly two centuries the department
has evolved to be an international referral center for the medical
and surgical treatment of diseases of the ear, nose, and throat.
OUTSTANDING SERVICES:
Facial Plastic Surgery: In-office or ambulatory procedures utilizing computer imaging, new techniques and materials produce
outstanding results with minimal incisions, rapid recovery and a
natural, youthful appearance.
Head & Neck Oncology: A multi-disciplinary team including
board-certified surgeons, medical & radiation oncologists, nutritionists and rehabilitation specialists insure rapid recovery from
complex, life-saving surgical procedures and return to daily activities.
Thyroid Center: A comprehensive program to streamline the
diagnosis and treatment of thyroid diseases and cancers. A highly
skilled team of surgeons, endocrinologists and radiologists manage the patient’s care.
Voice & Swallowing Institute: Combining the expertise of
physicians, speech pathologists and a voice physiologist to diagnose and treat voice problems – not only for performing artists
but also for teachers, stockbrokers, receptionists, salespeople –
anyone for whom voice is an important part of life.
Ear Institute (Otology – Neuro-otology): Specializing in the
care of chronic ear disease including hearing loss, cochlear
implantation, dizziness, tinnitus, intra cranial tumors and facial
nerve disorders. Our advanced otologic and vestibular diagnostic
labs assist physicians in treatment.
Pediatric Otolaryngology: Treating children has long been a
priority at the Infirmary. Pediatric care ranges from middle ear
infection, tonsil and adenoid disease, and neck masses to complex sinus and airway diseases.
