OTOLARYNGOLOGY
The Department of Otolaryngology at NYU Langone Medical Center provides the highest
quality treatment for ear, nose, throat, head and neck disorders, including one of the premier head and neck surgery programs in the country. We specialize in the following areas:
Cochlear Implants
Patients are provided with extensive evaluation, surgical implantation, device mapping,
and speech rehabilitation.
Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
Care is provided to patients requiring facial reconstructive surgery for a wide variety of
facial defor­mities, and to those seeking facial cosmetic surgery. Specialties include functional and aesthetic rhinoplasty, facial rejuvenation surgery, injectable fillers, Botulinum
Toxin (Botox) for facial spasm or wrinkles, and chemical peels and microdermabrasion.
General Otolaryngology and Sleep Surgery
Care is provided to adult patients with voice, sleep, allergy and nasal breathing disorders.
Additionally, services for children are provided through our pediatric otolaryngologists.
Head and Neck Surgery and Oncology
Care is provided to patients with cancer of the head and neck, including cancer of the larynx,
oral cavity, throat, nasal cavity and sinuses, salivary glands and lymph nodes in the neck.
Neurotology/Skull Base Surgery
The Otolaryngology team provides expert care to patients with hearing loss, facial nerve
palsy, vertigo and tinnitus, and treats lesions such as acoustic neuromas and skull base meningiomas. Featured services include facial palsy rehabilita­tion, auditory brainstem implants,
cochlear implants, laser surgery and endoscopic anterior and lateral skull base surgery.
Voice and Swallowing Disorders
We treat voice and swallowing disorders, including sore throat, chronic cough, hoarseness, voice loss, swallowing dysfunction, benign growths and cancer­ous tumors, vocal
cord paralysis, the aging voice, recurrent or chronic laryngitis, gastroesophageal reflux,
and injuries from overuse and misuse of the voice. Specialized services are available for
vocal performers.
Specialized Expertise
Audiology treats patients suffering with hearing or balance disorders; Head and Neck Speech
Pathology treats voice, speech or swallowing problems; Rhinology treats all diseases of the
paranasal sinuses, nose and related structures; Skull Base Surgery offers a minimally invasive
and advanced surgical approach to tumors of the anterior and posterior skull base.
