NOTTINGHAM PLAYHOUSE MARKETING MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION Responsible to: Head of Marketing & Communications Responsible for: Digital Marketing Officer, Groups and Audience Development Officer Marketing Assistant Marketing Trainee Job Purpose: To maximise sales, increase brand awareness and deliver the most efficient and creative marketing outcomes possible, for the full range of Nottingham Playhouse’s produced, visiting and participation work. To manage the day to day running of the department, the budget, campaigns, print and brochure design, collation and production, creation of show images, evaluation, etc, with the aim of exceeding targets for sales of mainstage, studio, participation and other work. To support the Head of Marketing & Communications, and work in partnership with the Press & PR Manager and the Customer Relations Manager, in the development, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of Nottingham Playhouse’s print, digital, face to face, telephonic and other communication strategies. To maximise all opportunities to promote the ethos, creative work, community role and national significance of Nottingham Playhouse. Duties include Managerial To line manage the Digital Marketing Officer, the Groups and Audience Development Officer, the Marketing Assistant and the Marketing Trainee, ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of their work and their professional development. To support the Head of Marketing & Communications in producing the annual budget, and to have day to day responsibility for the managing and monitoring of all marketing budgets, including processing invoices. To deputise for the Head of Marketing & Communications where appropriate making budgetary, strategic and operational decisions in line with the marketing plan and strategy To deputise for the Head of Marketing & Communications at external meetings where appropriate To work effectively with dance agencies, other promoters and visiting companies to agree and deliver marketing plans for all visiting work Operational To maintain the departmental work schedule, in line with the organisation’s timetable for productions, participation, visiting work and other creative activity. To collate and produce all brochures for the Playhouse. To be principle liaison with design, print and other marketing/communications agencies, delegating where necessary To lead on the commissioning and production of poster/brochure and other promotional images for all Nottingham Playhouse Theatre Company and Nottingham Playhouse coproductions, as required To lead on the production of marketing plans for each Nottingham Playhouse production, in consultation with the marketing team and co-producers (where relevant). To use the Tessitura CRM system to plan and track mailings, distribution, brochures, campaigns and all other audience communications. Strategic Working with the Head of Marketing & Communications and other colleagues as necessary: To ensure Nottingham Playhouse’s brand values and identity are protected and communicated effectively internally and externally in a effective and engaging manner. To ensure effective tracking of all campaigns and other activities, and analyse ‘return on investment’ to inform future planning. To support the implementation of the Audience Development Plan, and monitor all delivery against its targets. To manage the creation and development of marketing strategies for print, advertising, CRM applications and Digital/Electronic media, and delegate delivery as required. To work closely with the Customer Relations Manager in developing the use of the Tesstitura CRM system to maximise marketing insight and opportunities. Online/Digital To manage the Digital Marketing Officer post, so that the department delivers a cutting edge emarketing operation for Nottingham Playhouse by: Keeping abreast of developments in new media technology and methods of delivery. Ensuring vibrant, relevant and timely content on Nottingham Playhouse website Ensuring the Playhouse creates, cultivates and maintains online ambassadors, reviewers, media partners and other stakeholders. Communications To play an active role in cultivating and developing relationships with external stakeholders, in the city, county and region, in and beyond the arts, leisure and marketing worlds. To support the Head of Marketing & Communications and the Press & PR Manager in liaising with the Chief Executive and Artistic Director to ensure that organisational messages are effectively communicated internally and externally. To keep up to date with arts, leisure, marketing and media developments regionally and nationally. To assist with the delivery of a regular internal news letter Other To play an active part in Open Days and other audience development events. To act as a representative of Nottingham Playhouse at external meetings To attend Nottingham Playhouse Heads of Department meetings and other internal meetings as required. To attend and present to Nottingham Playhouse Trust Board meetings as required. To create and maintain strong, informed relationships with other theatres including seeing their work and attending events regionally and nationally. General To always act in the best interests of Nottingham Playhouse. To take positive action to promote Equal Opportunities in all aspects of the work of Nottingham Playhouse. To agree to abide by Nottingham Playhouse policies such as Health and Safety, child protection etc. To maintain confidentiality in all areas relating to Nottingham Playhouse.
