Vacancy - Customer Marketing Manager - New Role – The Ochils

Main Purpose of Job:







To assist the Head of Customer Marketing in developing an integrated annual Customer Marketing
plan including channel activation strategic and tactical plans.
To head the implementation of a clear set of channel specific activation plans for Highland Spring
Group business and drive category growth.
To produce customer facing presentations taking information from category, performance and
shopper/consumer dynamics.
To drive customer engagement across our “Route to Market” channels of wholesale, convenience,
on premise and foodservice. This involves opening up new points of influence in the leading
customers in these channels.
Provide new and updated selling stories for all trade channels and supporting collateral.
Manage the new “Supply Notification” process as the key liaison for prompt internal and external
communications.
Be a champion for Own Label in the business and drive a clear strategy for a balanced portfolio that
compliments each other.
Main Duties:
To have responsibility for the following:









Presenting to trade customers selling in core campaign activation elements.
Provide regular and updated selling stories for personal, Customer Marketing, sales team and
business use.
Support sales account managers to plan their year for the optimal ROI for Highland Spring Group
based on the identified Commercial team objectives.
Understanding and application of key market data on performance and market dynamics.
Create and provide recommendations to customers for driving category growth.
Applying consumer and shopper insights to provide clear customer & business recommendations for
category growth.
Managing and implementing Customer & shopper implementation plans, including budget
management of a range of activation media i.e. point of purchase items development and
production through trade press, trade publications and shopper POS.
Be the Customer Marketing champion for packaging liaising with the key brand team contacts.
Be the Marketing contact responsible for the “Supply Notification” internal comms process and
stakeholder management. Part of this key work is liaising with the Supply team key contacts.








Provide support and work in partnership with the two Category Managers on key customer and
internal projects where required.
Provide business expertise through clear recommendations for optimal ways to influence shoppers
in store, online, wholesale depots, on premise or foodservice.
This expertise and leadership may also extend to future ventures into other soft drinks categories
that Highland Spring Group may not already operate in.
Day to day may involve providing support to sales teams or customers on challenges and queries
posed to the business.
Be the Own Label Champion for Customer Marketing providing strategic guidance and a portfolio sell
in to minimise cannibalisation and ensure mutual category growth.
Business cross functional support i.e. Supply chain & operational teams in managing customer
specific projects.
Provision of trade show collateral for “Route to Market” teams.
Assist the Innovation team with possible ad hoc projects if and where required to ensure any NPD
launches are successful.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience















Highly enthusiastic, motivated and passionate team player.
Previous employment in FMCG is essential (Sales or Customer Marketing).
Experience in brand activation is essential.
Experience in creating compelling selling story presentations and category recommendations.
Experience presenting internally to sales teams, stakeholders and trade customers providing future
business recommendations for brand growth & activation plans.
Ability to manage a budget and implement activation plans from creative through to production/
completion.
Experience/knowledge across key trade channels mentioned above.
Ability to build strong relationships and gain trust with trade customers, sales teams & cross
functional teams.
Experience managing a budget.
Previous experience in extracting and interrogating data to provide actionable insights and business
recommendations is essential.
Skilled in managing business projects.
Ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
This role requires confidence to make decisions for the Group and its customers through compelling
rationale and sound personal judgement.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Highly proficient in PowerPoint and Excel. Experienced in the use of Microsoft Word.
