Volunteer Role – Marketing AbilityNet ITCanHelp is a network of volunteers with IT skills who provide free assistance to disabled people in their homes. ITCanHelp is structured as follows: a. Steering Group (SG): works to develop and promote the programme alongside AbilityNet b. Area Organiser (AO): develop and maintain the network across several counties and support County Co-ordinators in their area. They also liaise with Steering Group. c. County Co-ordinator (CC): recruit, co-ordinate and support the IT Support Volunteers within their County. They also visit clients in conjunction with IT Support Volunteers or independently. d. IT Support Volunteer: visit clients (disabled people) in their own homes and at other locations. Aim To actively support Abilitynet ITCanHelp’s marketing strategy to recruit volunteers and promote Abilitynet ITCanHelp’s services to potential clients. Responsibilities These can be expected to include the following: Promote services to clients and volunteering opportunities Actively engage with the marketing group – sharing ideas and opportunities for promoting our volunteering services Support national, regional, county and local events Support and assist the marketing team with marketing activities Assist with the collation marketing data Actively support web-related/social media campaigns Liaise with AbilityNet staff and Steering Group, as required, in developing and delivering promotional opportunities Evaluate marketing events/activities May 2017 AbilityNet Charity No. England and Wales 1067673 – Scotland SC039866 Telephone: 0800 269545 - email: [email protected] - web: www.abilitynet.org.uk Requirements The role of Marketing volunteer would be suitable for someone who can meet the following requirements: Experience of delivering successful marketing campaigns Innovative and creative approach to reaching target audience Experience and confidence in the use social media Supporting colleagues to produce blogs, and other written materials Good interpersonal and communication skills Ensuring all communiation meets AbilityNet brand guidelines Access to computer and email facilities Own transport or appropriate public transport links. Interest in equality of opportunity for elder and disabled people Willing to engage in meetings and telephone/email communication in relation to the role Can commit, on average, two hours per week for a minmum period of six months Reimbursements The work is unpaid but travel and other expenses incurred on behalf of AbilityNet IT Can Help will be reimbursed in accordance with the organisation’s standard provisions.
