Seattle Cancer Care Alliance New Volunteer Orientation The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance is seeking volunteers to provide practical support for people undergoing cancer treatment and their families. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old (some roles require 21 years or older). Cancer survivors must be at least one year post-active treatment prior to volunteering (2years for bone marrow/stem cell transplant patients). We are especially recruiting for the following volunteer opportunities: • Retail Store Volunteers to provide efficient and courteous service in one of two locations. Weekday/daytime availability, Saturdays. • Cosmetology/Barber Volunteers to provide complimentary head shaves to patients. Must be licensed. Weekday/daytime availability. • Comfort Hand Massage Volunteers to provide relaxing hand massages to patients and caregivers in our outpatient lobbies. Must be licensed and insured. Weekday/daytime availability. • Volunteer Drivers to assist with airport transportation for patients and caregivers. Must be at least 21 and with a clean driving record. We reimburse for mileage. Open availability. • Healing Music Volunteers provide soothing and comforting music to patients, caregivers, staff and volunteers in our outpatient setting, primarily in waiting/reception areas. Weekday/daytime availability; immediate openings. Next Orientation Dates: Wednesdays, January 13 & 20, 3:30 – 6:30pm Pre-registration and attendance at both sessions is required. Deadline to submit application is Monday, January 11th. Our next quarterly orientation is in May 2016.
