• Judaism:
• Monotheistic Religion:
Belief in one god.
• 4000 years old
• Originated in “Israel”

• Important Terms:
• Abraham – Hebrew patriarch from whom all
Jews trace their descent (Founder of Judaism)
• Covenant – Agreement between God and his
people in which God makes specific promises
and demands
• Diaspora – the dispersion of Jews outside of
Israel

Judaism. Leader who freed
them from slavery in Egypt.
• Given the message from God:
Ten Commandments.
• Written in the TORAH: Jewish
