Different Types of Shoots

ADVENTITIOUS SHOOT
New shoots usually develop from the terminal and
axillary buds of the plant. If they develop from the
root system they are called adventitious shoots.

UNDERGROUND STEM
They are stems that grow and develop underground.
They are also known as organs of perennation,
because they store food and give rise to new plants.
Can you label
the parts of the
Plant?
Stems and branches could be
hard and woody e.g. coconut
trees, mango trees, avocado trees,
orange trees.
They can also be herbaceous
(soft) e.g. rice, beans, tomatoes,
sweet peppers, cucumber, sweet
potatoes.
