Ozone a Medical Breakthrough? What is Ozone? Ozone (O3) is formed when either ultra violet light or electricity splits the Oxygen molecule (O2) into two separate atoms. One atom (O1) attaches itself to an Oxygen molecule (O2) and it forms Ozone (O3).Depending on the temperature, Ozone reverts back to Oxygen, within 30 seconds to 90 days. The average half life of Ozone at 38 degrees C is 45 min. “Ozone in nature” Oxygen produced by plants, trees and plankton, ascends into the atmosphere.
