TRANSITIVE VS. INTRANSITIVE
When
an action verb has a direct
object to complete its meaning it
is a transitive verb
An action verb that has no direct
object is an intransitive verb
Since linking verbs do not
convey action and don’t have
direct objects, they are always
intransitive
EXAMPLES:
Transitive: Writers prepare
scripts. (Prepare what?

Intransitive: Some viewers
laugh loudly. Others frown.
