• A brain-computer interface (BCI), sometimes called a direct neural interface
or a brain-machine interface, is a direct communication pathway between a
human or animal brain (or brain cell culture) and an external device.

Brain implants:
a new interface for communication
An emerging technology developed by Emory University neuroscientist Philip R.
Kennedy, M.D., and Emory neurosurgeon Roy E. Bakay, M.D. who have developed
an electrode brain implant that is allowing speech-impaired patients to communicate
through a computer.

Turing test
The Russian program - a chatbot named "Eugene Goostman"
- convinced 1 in 3 judges at the Turing Test 2014 competition
at the Royal Society in London that it was a real person;
according to Eugene's makers, it was the first time this has
happened since Turing first proposed the test in 1950.
