PROJECT EXPERIENCE
Project on “Differential gene expression pattern of HPV positive and HPV negative Head
and neck cancer and cervical cancer in GSE 6791” under guidance of Dr. N Sudhakar
(Assistant Professor, Dr. MGR university) and Dr. Venil N Sumantran (Adjunct Faculty, IIT-M).
We analyzed differentially expressed genes regulating cell growth and death in Cervical and
Head-neck cancers, and found that HPV linked Head and neck cancer over expressed more
growth and survival genes than HPV linked Cervical cancer and HPV non-linked cervical cancer
as well as Head and neck cancer.
Project training on “assessment of catalase activity in cancer patients” under supervision of
Dr. Ranjit Kumar - 1month duration at Mahavir Cancer Sansthan (Patna).
We tested serum samples of various cancer patients for catalase activity and found differences in
catalase levels in leukemia samples compared with samples of other cancers.
TRANING and WORKSHOPS
Attended national seminar on “Functional genomics” organized by department of
biotechnology of Dr. MGR educational and research Institute University. – January
2014.This seminar explained Next Generation Sequencing, Microarray, DNA sequencing and
bioinformatics analysis of genes.
Participated in workshop on the topic “Basic Dynamics of communication” conducted by the
department of English of Dr M.G.R educational and research Institute University. - October 2012.
