Job Title: Reporting To: Division: Start Date: Location: Marcoms Executive – Collateral Creation Marcoms Manager Lloyd’s List Group January 2012 IBI Head Office, London (the successful applicant needs to be able to travel globally as needed) JOB PURPOSE To oversee the creation of collateral and tools for use in sales and marketing campaigns the Lloyd’s List Group globally, in order to: Meet strategic goals and deliver revenue and profit targets Deliver agreed outputs, deadlines, budgets and KPIs Deliver consistent strong value propositions and compelling messages that influence purchasing/renewal decisions and win/retain business Deliver a consistent and positive brand identity Drive innovation and efficiency across the marketing mix The marketing communications mix comprises the creation of marketing messages and collateral for use throughout the customer lifecycle. It does not include campaign execution or the strategic marketing mix. This role will deliver consistent branding, messages and create collateral that meets strategic goals and delivers product revenue & profit targets. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Key Result Areas Messages and branding Main Activities and Responsibilities Implement messages across all marketing media, market segments and customer types to ensure consistency, avoid duplication and that demonstrate customer focus and understanding. Deliver consistent and positive brand identity and marketing messages through our marketing communications. Collateral creation Create collateral that fulfils the strategic marketing goals outlined by the strategic teams. Ensure all collateral is delivered to agreed deadlines, meeting, beating and managing expectations. Create collateral across all elements of the marketing communications mix, and through all offline and online media – covering websites, landing pages, direct mail, email, video, sales support tools, client support tools, advertising, exhibitions, events and sales promotions. Demonstrate efficiency and effectiveness by utilising a standardized, template-based approach to collateral where appropriate. Demonstrate innovation in marketing communications, by developing and testing evolutionary new media to add to the marketing mix. Marketing budgeting and measurement Ensure agreed management tool(s) are kept up-to-date and results are communicated to the agreed teams Improve the performance and ROI of campaigns through the production of world-class collateral and messages. Build relationships with external suppliers, optimizing service and driving down costs. Record spend against budget for individual campaigns and throughout the year. Maintain a high quality reporting and performance dashboards designed to communicate key performance indicators. Best practices and collaborative working Work collaboratively with relevant individuals across Informa to develop and implement best practice for marketing communications, leveraging learning and developing shared solutions. Learning and development Regularly update your own learning. EXPERIENCE & SKILLS Bachelor’s level education or equivalent Minimum of 2+ years experience of working in a marketing role (preferably in a B2B environment) Experience of collateral creation, copywriting and utilizing all aspects of the promotional mix across all marketing media Experience of measuring KPIs, capturing and applying learning on an ongoing basis Experience of preparing and maintaining budgets and assessing costs and benefits Results-driven – ensure that marketing communications activities fulfil strategic goals and drive the required business results, persistently seeking to improve business performance, with the energy and tenacity to address bottlenecks and barriers Highly organized, methodical and process-driven, demonstrating a drive to improve internal processes whenever possible Creative thinker with the tenacity and drive to seek new and improved messages, designs and routes to market Excellent literacy skills and attention to detail Able to regularly update own learning and that of the team in technical areas Strong customer focus – able to identify and discriminate between customers, focus on their needs and engage them through communications activities Able to deal with ambiguity and work in a matrix organization, adaptable and flexible
