I provided recommendations, facilitated a visit by education representative from Lego and the purchase of the required robots to enable the delivery. The feedback from students and staff at the time was very positive. The scheme and the module which is based on it continued to run during my management of the robots lab. Seminar and workshop style: more recently I have been experimenting with seminar and workshop style of delivery to relate complex theoretical ideas such as swarm intelligence and smart systems to practical implementable solutions, which the students then can relate to real world applications in networks, social media, etc. This started with SwarmStream project and continues now, where I work through the theory 3 Research and scholarship 4 of particular AI algorithm leading to developing an implementable example, which the students then implement using advanced programming skills while gaining and enhancing their analytical and problem solving skills, which often has positive impact on their employability and post-graduation studies.
