We are recruiting for new talents to support and drive the growth of the diets business.
SpecificTM is a food product, seen as an important brand for Dechra. With consistent quality
and the right sales and marketing approach to our veterinary customers, this product will
deliver significant growth for Dechra in the near future.
In order to make our ambition a reality, we need the right people!
For the Product Manager role we are looking for someone who can makes things happen.
The candidate would need to work closely with the Supply Chain Manager and the Countries
to ensure our markets needs are met. The role would be broad reaching, therefore keeping
up to date with competitor activity to support the delivery of the new positioning through
the use of multi-channel marketing. The position would be located in the UK, albeit the
proportion of time spent in the UK would not necessarily need to be full time. Language skills
would also be a strong benefit.

Main purpose of the role
The main purpose of the Product Manager DVP EU - Diets in Central Marketing is to support and
grow the sales of SpecificTM and its associated products and services. This should be carried out by
implementing marketing strategies that are customer focussed and support the Countries and their
sales and marketing teams in engaging their customers.
Main tasks:
- Ensure prudent use of all marketing channels to optimise the communication to customers of
“the SpecificTM offering”.
- Ensure launches of new products to the market are successful by planning marketing tactics,
campaigns, training etc.
- Benchmark products to ensure that they remain competitive. This will include all aspects of the
products including sales performance, pricing etc.
- Identify new product development, product enhancement and new market opportunities.
- Provide support to the Countries in order to ensure that sales targets are met.
- Have a good understanding of relevant markets, competitors and customers.
- Maintain an industry and market presence through communications with customers, universities,
colleges, professional organisations, key opinion leaders and other commercial contacts.
- Provide effective internal communication and training on all aspects of the product range.
- Monitor the effectiveness of marketing activity and produce a monthly report on progress
against targets, plans and budget.

Your profile:









A qualified veterinarian, MSc or PhD; additional marketing or business qualifications
Extensive working experience in the pet food sector
Good technical understanding of product formulation and pet nutritional needs
Good commercial awareness
Strong analytical skills, both verbal and numerical
Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
Commercial and costumer oriented, result driven, assertive
Resilient and responsive to change
Positive attitude externally and internally
