Role Summary:
To provide a broad range of Marketing services to support the needs of the University in general
and specifically assigned Departments and/or Faculties.
As part of a team of Marketing professionals, to coordinate a portfolio of specific tasks which will
include the allocation of at least one Faculty area, and to act as key relationship link for this
Faculty, along with other assigned projects.
The role requires a balance of creativity and innovation as well as strong organisational skills and
an ability to deliver to deadline.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:

To provide a broad range of Marketing services to the University including:
o Developing basic project focused marketing plans;
o Producing promotional material including writing copy and working with designers;
o Utilisation of social media for marketing purposes;
o Identifying appropriate advertising opportunities, booking advertising, writing the
adverts and organising their production;

Copywriting to meet a range of communications needs, targeting for particular audiences;

To act as the operational Marketing link with one designated Faculty of the University as
assigned.

To act as the Marketing advisor for the designated Faculty, and to facilitate the sharing of
support and information between the Faculty and Directorate.
To work with the Faculty to identify PR and marketing opportunities and feed these back to
the Directorate.

To co-ordinate and deliver Faculty contributions to Directorate produced materials such as
Prospectuses.

To work with the assigned Faculty to ensure that their Web content is kept as up to date as
possible.

To work to identify potential PR stories from the assigned Faculty and feed these through to
the PR team.

Support the delivery of the broader University marketing strategy as and where required;

Participate in University open days, visit days, offer-holder days and other on-campus
events as necessary.

To attend external events such as UCAS fairs as and when required to support the work of
the Recruitment Team, including presenting and delivering on behalf of the university – this
may involve some travel and overnight stays.

To deliver key projects as assigned, such as production of the Undergraduate prospectus,
updating course information on third party websites, supporting other internal departments
with their marketing needs eg conferences;

Update third party websites as assigned;

Develop and deliver Customer Relationship Management programmes as required,
contributing to their planning, design and development.

Monitor and report on the impact and effectiveness of marketing activity undertaken;

Work closely with other parts of the Directorate, in particular the PR and Communications
team and the Recruitment team, to identify and follow through on marketing opportunities
for the University.

Plan and prioritise own work to ensure efficient and on time delivery of activities.
