Role Summary:
To provide a broad range of Marketing services to support the needs of the University, and
specifically assigned departments and/or faculties.
As part of a team of marketing professionals, to coordinate a portfolio of specific tasks, which
specifically includes responsibility for co-ordinating the University response to the Competition and
Markets Authority (CMA) in relation to pre-entry marketing promotion.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:

To provide a broad range of Marketing services to the University and specifically to the
designated Department or Faculty, including:
o Developing project focused marketing plans which link to the marketing strategy;
o Lead on the development and delivery of marketing campaigns as assigned and to
advise other areas of the University on the development of their campaigns;
o Producing promotional material including writing copy and working with designers;
o Utilisation of social media for marketing purposes;
o Identifying appropriate advertising opportunities, booking advertising, writing the
adverts and organising their production;

Copywriting to meet a range of communications needs, targeting for particular audiences;

To act as the lead person for ensuring CMA compliance across all marketing and

communications activity undertaken by the department;

Act as a marketing account manager to assigned parts of the University to provide a
gateway to other services offered by the department as well as directly providing marketing
support;

Support the delivery of the broader University marketing strategy as and where required;

Participate in University open days, visit days, offer-holder days and other on-campus
events, as required.

To attend external events such as UCAS fairs as and when required to support the work of
the Recruitment Team – this may involve some travel and overnight stays. This will include
delivering presentations and sessions to a wide range of groups including schools, external
organisations, stakeholder groups etc.

To deliver key projects as assigned to the individual post holder. This could include such
things as the production of the Undergraduate prospectus, updating course information on
third party websites, supporting other internal departments with their marketing needs, e.g.,
conferences.

Update third party websites as assigned;

Develop and deliver Customer Relationship Management (CRM) programmes as required,
contributing to their planning, design and development;

Monitor and report on the impact and effectiveness of marketing activity undertaken;

Work closely with other parts of the Directorate, in particular the PR and Communications
team and the Recruitment team, to identify and follow through on marketing opportunities
for the University;

Plan and prioritise own work to ensure efficient and on time delivery of activities.
