Lithosphere
 Layer
of the earth on which we live.
 We live on the top layer of the lithosphere,
the crust.
 The lithosphere is made up of the crust
and the thin upper layer of the mantle
which is solid.
 Since most of the mantle is hot liquid
which flows, the lithosphere is able to slide
along top.
Atmosphere
Layers of the Atmosphere
Troposphere: Layer in which we live, gases are
denser and temp is higher closer to Earth
Stratosphere: Holds 19% of Earth’s gases, ozone
is formed here, planes can be found in this
area.
Mesosphere: Gases become thinner, meteors
burn up here
Thermosphere: Known as the upper
atmosphere, gases are very thin, UV radiation
and x-rays are absorbed, satellites
