Carla Michelotti has legal, government and
corporate affairs responsibility for Leo Burnett and
Arc Worldwide global networks, operating 95+ offices
around the world. She is a member of the Leo Burnett
Worldwide Global Board.
Carla is recognized as one of the industry’s foremost
authorities for her skill in anticipating and helping
companies navigate through potential regulation
affecting business, including advertising, intellectual
property, commercial free speech, digital and privacy
issues. Carla organized the first global meeting on advertising self-regulation; and is proud to
have been the first to meet with White House and EU representatives to address legal issues related
to online advertising. She frequently presents to international audiences of both industry and
government leaders.
Carla serves on several professional and charitable boards, including the DePaul University Board
of Trustees, The Chicago Network, Junior Achievement of Chicago, the International Advertising
Association, the National Advertising Review Council, the Illinois Equal Justice Foundation,
Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana, Athena International, and The House of
the Good Shepherd. She is Vice Chairman of the U.S. Council for International Business Marketing
Committee and a member of the 4A’s Government Affairs Committee. Carla is a board member and
past Chairman of the American Advertising Federation, and a member of The Economic Club of
Chicago, having also served on that Board.
She has received numerous awards throughout her career, including the Justinian Bar Association
Award for Excellence, the DePaul Law School’s Outstanding Service to the Profession Award, the
Chicago Advertising Federation’s prestigious Silver Medal Award and the American Advertising
Federation’s Bart Cummings Award. In 2003, Carla was named Chicago Ad Woman of the Year and
was inducted into the Today’s Chicago Woman Hall of Fame. In 2002, Carla was honored with an IAA
global medal in recognition of the work promoting self-regulation and freedom of speech.
Carla has a B.A., a J.D. and an honorary Doctorate of Law from DePaul University. She is a member of
the Chicago, Illinois, American and Justinian Bar Associations, and is a named ISBA and ABA Fellow.
