JOB DESCRIPTION – Brand Manager
Asilia Africa – Cape Town Office
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Asilia brand manager you will be the guardian with the brand across all aspects of the
business. You will feel as comfortable contributing design ideas to new camps as developing
cutting edge video content. You will work with all departments within the business,
operations, agent marketing, digital marketing and to a lesser extent sales. As a creative
thinker you will enjoy generating ideas but also have a keen eye for detail to ensure the
brand is correctly executed across the different platforms. You will enjoy working in a fast
paced environment, be available for regular travel and have experience managing budgets.
Brand Guardian


Responsible for the maintenance of the brand book and ensuring its correct
implementation across all channels of the business.
Responsible for the production, distribution and maintenance of all branded
materials.
Visual Identity





Responsible for ensuring the brand integrity in all visual elements.
Selecting and working with photographers, videographers etc.
Coordinating the logistics of shoots.
A keen interest and experience in creating videos would be an advantage.
Up to date in the current trends in visual marketing and able to apply them to Asilia.
Verbal identity


Responsible for ensuring that all written pieces on Asilia are in line with the brand
tone and word choice.
Generating key brand pieces of content.
Marketing materials




Responsible for the creation of all offline-marketing materials. This includes (but is
not limited to):
USB sticks
Trade show artwork (banners etc.)
Agent brochures (digital and paper)
Documents for agent zone.
Asilia Magazine
East Africa Travel Companion
Maintain electronic library of all marketing material, logos, etc. produced.
Involved in the production of digital marketing materials in conjunction with the
digital marketing team.
Involved in the production of communication in conjunction with the
Communications Consultant.
In Camp Materials





Responsible for overseeing the implementation of the brand throughout the safari
journey.
Assisting in the production of branded materials for use on the ground.
Oversee update of official camp documents at year end.
Redesign of camp materials and documents, for example welcome cards and menus.
Distribute and maintain library of all materials produced.
Miscellaneous

Production of official company Annual and Semi-Annual Report.
Required skills & interests








Tertiary qualification or experience in media, design, tourism or journalism
5 years’ experience in the safari industry or working in camp would be an advantage
Good organizational, management and planning skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English is a must).
Skilled in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to work independently and make decisions
Drive, commitment, proactivity
Personality: Dynamic, enthusiastic, self-motivated, team player
