T-wave alternans and emotion in daily life

The goals of this study are to evaluate whether T-wave alternans measured via 24-hour ambulatory ECG
is associated with emotion states as assessed by experience sampling, and whether these changes
correlate with increased arrhythmia risk, in patients with ICDs.

Reducing Vulnerability to ICD Shock Treated Ventricular Arrhythmias

This recently-funded study will randomize patients receiving ICDs to receive stress reduction therapy
versus usual care to determine whether SRT will reduce occurrence of potentially life-threatening
arrhythmias. A co-investigator, my role is to oversee all medical aspects of this study.

Racial disparities in heart attach recovery: Role of stigma and stress

The goal of this study is to evaluate the role racial and age stigma in recovery after myocardial
infarction. My roles are to provide consultation and coordination regarding cardiac clinical care,
overseeing all medical aspects of the study, and to perform heart rate variability analysis, to evaluate the
role of the autonomic nervous system in any associations seen.
