Evaluation of Advertising 1. This is the advert I chose to compare mine with, as we can see this advertisement doesn’t show much information about the product, instead it has only shown the product itself however exposing this in an interesting way. The lack of information really brings down the products market as the target audience wont have an idea on where to go and where to look. This is my magazine of the product I chose to advertise which was a football boot, I have clearly shown the different features of the boot as well as adding a slogan to further enhance the interpretation of how the target audience will look at this product. The slogan “Be Fast Or Be Last” is used to motivate the target audience to purchase this product as well as giving them a reason to reason to buy this product. Print Screen or place the image of another advert here. Question 1: How high is the standard of the production? Does the advert have a high quality to it? Does it accurately look like a film poster? How have you manipulated your images? I think that the advertisement has a high quality to it as this shows most of the features clearly as well as showing off the product correctly. The picture has been taken in a specific way so that most of the product is exposed, this helps with promotion as well as giving the target audience a real impression on how the product looks. I have angled my product in a certain way so that the audience can see the main style of the product and can so this helps with deciding whether or not the target audience want to purchase this product or not. This looks fairly accurate as some advertisements might not show correct angles of their product and so this has a huge toll on how the product is marketed. Question 2: How does the advert adhere to the codes and conventions of advertising? Have the group included all key elements such as a logo, slogan, brand identity, product images or production information? This advert follows the codes and conventions of advertising as this follows the key elements which are needed in order to make the advert look professional and organised. For example I have chosen to add a brand logo as well as a main slogan which is one of the main selling points as this is a way to motivate the target audience to buy this product and also gives them a reason to buy this product. I have also used social media links for anyone interested in the product or brand so that the audience and others can get a proper understanding on the product features and why they should buy this product. I have also given three key features of the product which also attract the audience as this shows them what the product can do and what it can withstand, by doing this the product is marketed well and gains a better following. The brand identity of my advertisement is the logo on the goal post, this shows the audience who the product is by and where they can look to purchase the product and also gain more information from. This advertisement is biased on purpose towards football players as this is a product designed specifically for this sport. The advertisements shows a football boot leaning against a goal post which could be a way of luring the audience to buy this product as they can get the impression that they will get fit if they buy this product as well as perform better when playing football as the product has special features.
