One way to learn sentence cores is to identify only the sentence pattern without classifying all the words in the sentence. To do this, study the sentence and identify only the core parts. Learn It: REFLEXIVE AND INTENSIVE PRONOUNS Reflexive and intensive pronouns are the easiest to identify because both types end with -self or -selves. A reflexive pronoun refers to the subject and functions as a direct object, indirect object, or object of a preposition. The reflexive pronouns end with -self or -selves. 2. Singular reflexive pronouns are myself, yourself, himself, herself, and itself. 3. Plural reflexive pronouns are ourselves, yourselves, and themselves. 4. Reflexive pronouns usually refer back to the subject. 5.
