Review: Complements • A direct object is a noun or pronoun that tells who or what receives the action of the verb. • Example: My brother bought a wallet. • An indirect object is a noun or pronoun that comes between the verb and the DO. • Example: My brother bought my dad a wallet. Write the sentences below. Write D.O. above the direct object and I.O. above the indirect object. 1. We made our parents a scrapbook for their anniversary. 2. My uncle gave my sister ice skates. Review: Complements • A predicate nominative is a word in the predicate that identifies the subject. • Example: That man is a writer. • A predicate adjective is a word in the predicate that describes the subject. • Example: That man is young.
