Human Biology 11 – Dalesandro
Lab #2 – Skin Cells
Instructions: Sit with your lab group at the lab table. Obtain a microscope and
set it up on your lab table. Place the slide with the human skin cells
on the stage under low power (40x) . Sketch what you see. Switch
to medium (100x) and then high (400x) power, sketch what you
see in each.
When finished, give the slide back to Mr. Dalesandro. Turn off
your microscope (once you have moved the low-power lens back
into position). Wrap the cord around your microscope and store it
neatly on the lab cart.
Lab Write-up sections:
Purpose – To observe and sketch human skin cells under low, medium,
and high power magnification.
Materials – Compound microscope, glass slide, paper.
Procedudre – Y.O.W. (Your own words).
Observations – Three sketches.
Results – Describe the skin cells and their appearance.
Conclusion – Y.O.W.
