POSITION SUMMARY:
SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an excellent and immediate opening for a Sr.
Sales and Marketing Manager at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena, EverBank Field, The Baseball Grounds of
Jacksonville, The Ritz Theater, The Times Union Center for the Performing Arts, The Jacksonville Equestrian Center
and the Prime Osborn Convention Center. The Sr. Sales and Marketing Manager manages sales related functions in
support of the basic marketing plan, by coordinating sponsorship signage, corporate suites, club seats, corporate
partnerships and Naming Rights for the venues. Oversees daily operations of Marketing Staff
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Assists Director in preparation of Marketing Plan in support of sales goals.
 Assist Director with supervisory responsibilities in accordance with SMG’s policies and
procedures.
 Develops new sales contracts, renewal contracts, addendums and monitors all contract
compliance and fulfillment.
 Prepares statistics, reports and budget presentations for executive leadership.
 Carries out daily specific sales and marketing activities according to the specified marketing
plan, as requested by Director.
 Uses sales and marketing principles to promote and sell existing inventory and future
inventory in each facility.
 Assists Marketing Director in developing sales and marketing plan, materials and inventory to
support established revenue goals and advertising objectives for each venue.
 Establishes billing and invoicing systems with Finance Director for Accounts Receivable.
 Advertising Contract fulfillment.
 Accurate record keeping.
 Ensures reliability and integrity of customer relationship management and ticketing database
 Plans and implements new system enhancements and procedures for ticketing computer
systems.
 Reconciles tickets sales and deposits and report Marketing Daily financial activities.
 Sponsorship, suite licensing, club membership financial tracking and fulfillment.
 Generate sales opportunities, negotiate agreements and activate trades to reduce
departmental spending and to help offset budgeted line items.
 Initiate, develop and maintain relationships with clients, local and national.
 Manage other marketing projects as assigned by Director of Marketing and/or Executive
Management Team.
 Provide on-going marketing and PR support and service to clients, promoters.
 Prepare statistics, reports and budget forecast for management.
 Create, maintain and invoice financial transactions for Sponsorship, Suite and Club
membership.
 Coordinate all ticket notifications, sales and distribution for Suite and Club Seat Holders.
 Maintain excellent working relationship with Sponsors, Suite and Club Holders.
 Maintain excellent working relationship with all venue management, finance and box office.
 Plan social and sales functions as may be necessary.
 Responsible for creating/implementing new ideas/opportunities to drive new revenue sources.
 Responsible for working Arena events and promotions as they relate to marketing.
 Coordinate with other departments to organize and implement theme events.
 Maintain and increase advertising, suite, club and sponsorship revenues.


QUALIFICATIONS:
 Must have computer skills: Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
 Experience using Archtics Ticketmaster software preferred
 Must have attention to detail
 Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
 Must have strong leadership, communication and organizational skills necessary for planning and directing
coverage at events.
 Must have strong customer service skills
 Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, managing competing demands, frequent changes,
delays or unexpected events
 Must be able to manage multiple projects at one time
 Must have strong interpersonal skills
 Must have professional presentation, appearance and work ethic required
 Must have a valid driver’s license
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
 Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Marketing, Journalism, Advertising, Public Relations or
related field preferred or equivalent experience and college education
 Minimum 2 years Marketing related experience required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
 Daily lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. Up to 5 minutes at a time.
 Constant reaching, standing, walking and stooping
 Performing work through repetitive eye/hand coordination
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS
 High noise level
 Exposure to the weather conditions
 In and out of doors several times a day
 Exposure to heat and cold, dust pollen and fumes
HOURS OF WORK
Must be able to work extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
