Genome-wide analysis of the distribution of AP2/ERF transcription
Genome-wide analysis of the distribution of AP2/ERF transcription

The entire cabbage genome sequence and more than fifty thousand proteins have been obtained to date. However a high degree of sequence similarity and conserved genome structure remain between cabbag ...

For example, the virC-specific primers amplify the corresponding sequences from A. tumefaciens (SAWADA et al. 1995), but not from A. vitis (SZEGEDI and BOTTKA, 2002). Although an improved virCspecific primer pair detected some A. vitis strains (KAWAGUCHI et al. 2005), comp ...

How does chromosome behavior account for Mendel`s Principles ?

... A geneticist wants to map the position of three dominant/recessive allele pairs (A/a, B/b, and F/f) relative to each other in D. melanogaster (fruit flies). For simplicity let’s say all the dominant alleles are on the same chromosome. Where should she begin? 1. Do AaBb x aabb and look for recombinan ...

Indeed, the most frequently observed congenital malformation of the limb is polydactyly (Mellin, 1963; Bunnell, 1964; Tentamy and McKusick, 1978). However, the existing Hox-4 genes expressed in the limb bud only provide five dist ...

Pathogenomics

Pathogen infections are among the leading causes of infirmity and mortality among humans and other animals in the world. Until recently, it has been difficult to compile information to understand the generation of pathogen virulence factors as well as pathogen behaviour in a host environment. The study of Pathogenomics attempts to utilize genomic and metagenomics data gathered from high through-put technologies (e.g. sequencing or DNA microarrays), to understand microbe diversity and interaction as well as host-microbe interactions involved in disease states. The bulk of pathogenomics research concerns itself with pathogens that affect human health; however, studies also exist for plant and animal infecting microbes.
