WHAT IS THE TEST
 A, HERN. (2014). what is the Turing test? And are we all
doomed now?. Available:
http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2014/jun/09/what is-the-alan-turing-test. Last accessed 03rd march 2016.
 The test as coined by computing pioneer Alan Turing in 1950,
was designed as a basic way of checking to see whether a
computer counts as “intelligent”
THE TEST

march 2016.
 “Turing proposed that a human evaluator would judge natural
language conversations between a human and a machine that
is designed to generate human-like responses.” In 1936,
Alfred Ayer a philosopher considered a philosophical question
of the mind, how do you ascertain that other people have the
same conscious experience like we do
HOW DOES IT RELATE TO AI

 Talks about how it is conducted and who came up with it.
WHY THE TEST?
 Alan,T. (2016). The Turing test, 1950. Available:

03rd march 2016.
 Could a computer think ? The before –math
 This paper was written by Alan Turing while he worked at the
computing laboratory in Manchester University. Were the
possibility of Artificial intelligence was raised as a concern for
the general public Turing told the London times the research
they are conducting will be to determine “to what extent the
machine could think for itself”
THE TRUTH

http://www.bbc.com/future/stor y/20150724 -the-problemwith-the-turing-test. Last accessed 03rd march 2016.
 Alan Turing comes up with many predictions regarding
artificial intelligence. This test had been cited so many times
in various cultures, “depiction of robots and artificial life”.
PROPOSED PATTERN
 Hingston, P. "A Turing Test for Computer Game Bots." IEEE
Trans. Comput. Intell. AI Games IEEE Transactions on
Computational Intelligence and AI in Games 1.3 (2009): 16986. Web.
 This article proposes a paper version of Turing test in order to
examine the ability of computers to imitate humans.

 University of Reading organised an event on the
60th anniversary of Alan Turing's death to test the then 65 year-old Turing test on Eugene Goostman, an intelligence
based on a 13 year old boy which was developed in Saint
Petersburg, Russia. Eugene has passed the test to creat a
historical moment in Aritificial Intelligence.

 This reference discusses that although the Turing test was an
extremely intelligence way to measure machine intelligence, the
crucial five -minute interrogation mark is not a ver y realistic way of
measuring the intelligence of a machine. It has been argued in the
ar ticle that five minutes are too less, and pass by way too fast.
