Roman Timeline
Project
Due Date ____________
You will be creating a digital timeline showing the rise and fall of the Roman Empire.
Use your notes, your book, and the internet or library research to label and describe the events
that occurred on the years listed. In addition to the events listed you must include pictures and
explain the importance of several Roman cultural achievements.
You and your partner will need to complete the Roman Timeline worksheet and have it
approved by your teacher before you begin work on your PowerPoint. You will also need to do
outside research and save pictures on a flashdrive that will be used for each event. There will
be NO internet research during class except for extenuating circumstances (please see the
teacher on such matters).
For each of the following events, label the event (be sure to include the year) and write
two-three sentences using your own words to explain its importance (what was the end result).
Connect the event explanations to their appropriate place and date on the timeline. All events
need at least 2 pictures. Your teacher will provide you with a template to create your timeline
on PowerPoint. Keep your transitions subtle – no audio allowed.
The bottom portion will be divided into three sections representing a category of Roman
achievements. For each category, list at least two examples and include two or more pictures
representing each one.
All timeline events and each achievement category on the main slide will be linked to a
separate slide with their information and pictures. Your teacher will explain how this be
accomplished.
