• What is GIS? Geographic Information
systems is a tool that lets us layer
different kinds of information on a
map
• By looking at these layers, we can
see patterns that we wouldn’t
normally see.
Your Assignment…
• Go to the National Geographic site
• Your group will be assigned one
animal to research using GIS maps.
• Create a presentation that answers
the following questions.
– Tell us 5 facts about your animal.
– Where do they live?
– How are they being harmed?
– What can be done to help?
