Center of mass The center of mass of a body or a system of bodies is the point that moves as though all the mass were concentrated there and all external forces were applied there. The following represent two ways of thinking about “way”. The distance the cart moves is different from the distance moved by the point of applicatio9n of the friction force to the cart.
