
There are 2 areas of diagnostic criteria
that must be met for each diagnosis in the
DSM


Nonrestorative sleep that lasts for at least 1 month
Does not occur exclusively during the course of
another sleep disorder (C) or mental disorder (D)


Is not due to the direct physiological effects of a
substance or a general medical condition
