Head and Neck
Sternmastoid: The big muscle
on the side of the neck and it
helps your head move and
neck.
Orbicularis oculi: It’s the
muscle right above your eye it
helps your eye lids open and
close.
Massater: The jaw muscle it
helps you chew so you can eat
food that needs to be chewed.
Trapezius: It supports the arm
and moves the scapulae.
Arms and Hands
Triceps and Biceps:
These muscles are both
in your arm and both
push and pull. They help
you move your arm and
bend it. They are the
main muscles that help
you lift things and are a
big part in every day life.
Deltoids: The Deltoids
move your shoulders.
Chest and Back
Diaphragm: It
functions your
breathing.
Oblique Abdominis:
They contract and
compress the organs.
Legs and Feet
Hamstring: They rotate the
lower leg when the knee is
bent. They play a role in
walking running and jumping.
Gluteus Maximus: External
rotation and extension of the
hip joint and supports the
knee.
Calf: Stabilization of the ankle
and during walking and
running.
Quadriceps: It’s a flexor of the
hip. It also stabilizes the
patella.
Types of muscles and functions
Skeletal Muscle: This
type of muscle helps
move the bones so it
works with the skeletal
system.
Smooth Muscle: Moves
the intestines so it helps
the digestive system.
Cardiac Muscle: This type
of muscle pumps the
heart so it works with the
circulatory system.
