Integers: counting numbers
(1,2,3…..) and their opposites (-1, -2, -3…) and 0
Negative integers: value is less than zero
~to the left of zero on the number line
Positive integers: value is greater than zero
~to the right of zero on the number line
Horizontal Number Line (x axis)
Vertical Number Line (y axis)
Opposites
Opposites: integers that are the same distance from zero on the
number line
~zero is neutral (its own opposite)
Ex. 10 and -10
ex -3 and 3
