Pp 398 Participle Pp 398-399 • A verb (ending in –ing, -ed, -t, -n) that functions as an adjective. ▫ The dancing fool stepped on my foot. ▫ The shaken woman cried over the accident. • A participial phrase includes its own modifiers ▫ Partially eaten corn will show up about a day later. ▫ The idiot dancing over there is annoying. Infinitives • A verb using the word “to” in front of it.
