What is a direct object?
• A direct object receives the action
of the verb in a sentence.
• They answer the question:
– whom? = People or what? = things
Example: I
want the blue shirt.

Rules
• Option 1 = one conjugated verb. Place
DOP(direct object Pronoun) directly
before the conjugated verb.(1 verb)
– Ex. Yo la compro.
• Option 2 = conjugated verb followed by
an infinitive verb.
– You can place the DOP directly before the
conjugated verb(option 1), or attached to
the infinitive verb. (has 2 verbs)
