Body Systems Song
(tune of “Yankee Doodle”)
The human body is a creation of God–
We’re fearfully, wonderfully made!
From cells to organs to the big systems
Each part has a job to do.
To breathe the air goes in the nose;
It’s warmed, cleaned and moistened.
The trachea leads to the lungs,
Bronchial tubes and the air sacs.
The circulatory system, it moves our blood.
Arteries carry oxygen to cells,
Veins bring back the carbon dioxide
While the heart keeps pumping steady.
The nervous system has three main parts;
The brain, nerves and spinal cord.
It controls the senses, all I think and do
And keeps the systems working.
The digestive system breaks down the food.
It starts in the mouth with saliva,
The esophagus leads to the stomach and then
The small and large intestine.
The excretory system gets rid of wastes
That build up in our body.
The liver, kidneys and sweat glands too
Are important for this system.
The human body is a creation of God–
We’re fearfully, wonderfully made!
From cells to organs to the big systems
Each part has a job to do.
