POSITION DESCRIPTION Title: Department: Division: Product Manager - Decoys All Brands Hunting Division, PRADCO Outdoor Brands Reports to: Location: Job ID: Brand Manager Birmingham, AL 7868 General Description: The Product Manager has ownership of the decoy product portfolio and product development process and is accountable for the performance of the decoy product category. He or she will develop a mastery of consumer trends, the retail landscape, and competitive products and translate this into a clear vision and strategy for the decoy product category. As a “high confidence, low ego” team player, the Product Manager will work cross-functionally with Marketing, Operations, Sales, and Engineering to manage all aspects of product development for the decoy category, from concept development to commercialization. He or she will aggressively grow the business by thoroughly understanding the marketplace and competition, and by developing products that address consumer and retailer needs. Essential Functions Product Development (50%) – Generate consumer insights to drive new product development. Lead decoy design/development for the New Product Team. Spec new products (features, cost/pricing, etc). Coordinate development/testing with manufacturers and suppliers. Support development of packaging, product catalog and marketing materials with Marketing Communications. Annual Product Plan (20%) – Monitor performance/trends of key competitors & retailers. Develop line strategies and launch schedule. Sales Support (15%) – Conduct product workshops at annual Sales Conference. Provide ongoing product training. Participate in key account calls when necessary. Create derivatives/SMU's and "special programs" for key accounts. Actively participate in key trade shows. Ongoing Product Line Management/Maintenance (15%) – Track/analyze sales and profitability of new and existing products. Proactively manage inventory (excess, backorders, etc). Assist in product forecasting and production planning. Minimum Qualifications B.S. or B.A. from an accredited college/university 5+ years in product management, development, marketing, or related field 5+ years in design, development, sourcing, or production of hunting decoys Avid outdoorsman and active participant in waterfowl and other hunting sports Organized and detail-oriented Understanding of product development life cycle and necessary steps to move from concept to finished goods Ability to think strategically and anticipate market trends Ability to define problems/opportunities, collect data, establish facts and make valid conclusions/recommendations Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point About PRADCO Outdoor Brands, and EBSCO Industries, Inc.
