Lift Pump 24-Volt Motor Controller
KCCA0039
Features
Kinetek KCCA0039 motor controllers are a low cost, high performance solution for pump
motor control applications including scissor lifts, lift trucks, mobile booms, or any pumping
application where 24-volt, series motor, speed control is employed.
• Current limiting: 360 Amps
• Operating voltage: 12 to 32 Volts DC,
300 to 400 Amps
• Input voltage range: 0 to 5 Volts DC
KCCA0039 controllers keep cost low while emphasizing tough, solid-state durability and
performance over time. Controllers provide circuit over-voltage protection, control input
over-voltage protection, and control output over-voltage protection.
• Enable input: 12V DC or greater,
(10 mA max)
• Speed input over voltage protection
The controller speed input uses a 0 to 5-volt linear DC voltage, usually provided by a simple
5 to 10k Ohm potentiometer, and a separate 12-volt or greater Enable input. At 0.5 Volts, the
controller begins providing voltage to the motor at a minimum duty cycle of 7.0%. The duty
cycle increases linearly with speed input voltage up to 3.86 volts at which point the duty
cycle is 100%. If the controller measures 4.6 volts or more on the speed control input, or 5.6
volts or more on the speed control output circuit, for longer than 100mS, the controller will
shut down. If the controller detects circuit voltage outside its 12 to 32 volt operating range,
for longer than 0.5 seconds, it will likewise shut down. Logical shut down occurs before
motor or controller can be damaged. The controller is easily reset by cycling the Enable
input.
Simple mounting and easy-connect blade terminals for control connections make the
KCCA0039 easy to install and connect. The rugged enclosure provides durable protection
for electronic circuitry.
• Speed output circuit over voltage
protection
• Operating circuit over voltage protection
• Easy connect blade-style (Faston) control
connections
• Rugged enclosure
Applications
• Material handling lifts
• Scissor lifts
• Lift trucks
• Mobile booms
• Appropriate pump motor applications

Lift Pump 24-Volt Motor Controller
Electrical
Operation
• Enable Input: A voltage greater than
12V (10mA maximum load) must be
applied to enable the control.
• Speed Input: Once enabled, a 0 to 5V
linear signal controls motor speed.
Designed to operate with a 5 to 10k
Ohm potentiometer. Potentiometer
wiper is connected to the speed
input with the remaining two
potentiometer connections made to
the +5V potentiometer supply and B-.
• Shutdown reset: Cycle Enable input
power.
