Pre-AP World History Agenda October 24 and 25 (Thursday and Friday) Era I: Human Origins and Early Civilizations, Prehistory to 1000 B.C. (B.C.E.) By the end of this unit, students will demonstrate knowledge of ancient river valley civilizations including those of Mesopotamia, Egypt, the Indus River Valley, and China and the civilizations of the Hebrews, Phoenicians, and Nubians by: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Closing Task: I will write TWO things that I learned about Judaism today. Part I – – Judaism Reading Quiz (10 minutes) Individual Using the outline you created for your homework, complete this quick quiz to test your understanding. Part II – Lecture: The Hebrews and the Origins of Judaism (40 minutes) Whole Class Use the guided note sheet I have provided to help you take notes on the origins of Judaism. Ask any questions you may have as we discuss the development of this first monotheistic religion. Part III – Judaism Time Line (20 minutes) Individual You will take this time to fill out the Judaism Outline that you picked up on your way into class. Use your outline and/or the book to help you complete this timeline. Part IV – Map: Kingdom of Kush (Time Remaining) Individual Use your book and the information we have discussed to help you create a map of the Invaders Kingdom of Kush. Make sure you learn these locations as you will be tested on their locations on your upcoming quiz. ***See Homework on Back of Agenda*** Homework: The following assignments are due NEXT CLASS (October 28-29): 1. Read and outline Chapter 4, Section 1. You will have a quiz when you come to class on this material, but you can use your outline! 2. Complete the Map on Judaism for next class. You will be graded on both Accuracy and Neatness!! Note: You will have a quiz on October 30/31, which will cover all the material up to that date (Phoenicians, Hittites, Assyrians, Judaism, and Egypt/Kush).
