The future cannot be predicted, but preferred
futures can and should be envisioned, invented,
implemented, continuously evaluated, revised,
and re-envisioned.
Thus, another major task of futures studies is
to facilitate individuals and groups in
formulating, implementing, and re-envisioning
their preferred futures’.
