Overview
To gain a strong handle on the underlying essence of Astrology, one should develop a strong
understanding of the basic nature of each planet; the influence of the signs, aspects and houses; then
combine them with reason and develop their intuition (in-sight.) Planets, Signs, Aspects and Houses
form an ancient language that describes energy as well as energy dynamics. Understanding these
fundamental energies and how they are manifested can provide one with the link between Divine
Consciousness and Matter (ourselves) and help us achieve spiritual development.
Planets are messengers of Allah which by their motion through the signs and houses bring to us the
opportunities for soul growth which are necessary for individual development.
Value of Astrology
Modern science has determined to some extent the physical effects of the rays of the Sun and the
Moon. Speculations have been offered as to effects of rays emanating from other stellar bodies.
Ancient science, investigating the subtler forces that impinged upon emotion and mind, charted their
effects with no less definiteness than today's understandings of the reactions of the sea and
soil, plant and animal, to the solar and lunar rays (Cosmic Energy.)
With this knowledge, a psychological “blueprint” can be determined from the positions of each
planetary source in our solar system. This blueprint, based on the astrological pattern of an individual,
provides indications and signs of relative strengths and weaknesses operating in their life. To the degree
that we are in possession of such knowledge, we can begin systematic, scientific character building.
We can elect times and seasons that are cosmically advantageous to unfolding undeveloped qualities,
correcting faulty traits, and eliminating destructive propensities.
The educational value of astrology lies in its capacity to reveal the hidden causes at work in our lives. It
discovers Spirit. It demonstrates reality. It touches every walk of life, and lends aid to each and all, in
whatsoever station they may find themselves.

The energies symbolized by the Planets represent Dimensions of our Experience. How we
communicate, how we display emotion, our creative energies, our pleasures and dislikes, our sex drive,
etc.
These energies are manifested as psychological functions, urges, needs and motivators. The Planet/Sign
combination represents the major principles which form our character and motivate every type of selfexpression on all levels of life: mental, physical, intellectual and spiritual.
Planets have a home sign where their energy is strongest. They also travel (transit) through the other 11
signs bringing their energies and influences. Each planet is traveling at its own speed in its orbit of the
Sun. The seven ruling planets are Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. These are the
planets that are visible to the unaided human eye. They are referred to in various doctrines as seven
heavens, seven messiahs, Elohim, etc., and are the seven global spheres of Divine Energy which are
channeling energy to our seven chakras.
“The heavens declare the glory of God;
And the firmament shows his handiwork.
