Ecology Project
1) Choose an Area of a certain habitat of your ecosystem. (Suggested: garden or pond, etc).
2) Take a picture of the designated area.
3) Write a brief description of the area, its location, measure the area and weather
conditions during the sample.
4) Take pictures of individuals of the different populations.
5) Research their names and write brief description about each of them.
6) Count the number of individuals of a certain species. (use a quadrant method if they are
too many and include a picture of it)
7) Build food chains and food webs with those pictures.
8) Take pictures of any human impact or influence on that habitat.
9) Write a brief description of how this impact or influence can affect the ecosystem.
10) Suggest solutions to reduce the effects of human impact on your area.

The description is very complete. Including precise measures of the area, with correct units and.

Builds a food web and chain. With perfect labeling, energy loss indication, identify consumers.
Shows all the possible human influence and impact of that certain area, takes pictures of them,
writes a detailed and correct description of the possible impact on the ecosystem.
Suggests more than three possible solutions
8 – 7:







The designated area is suitable for the project and it shows some scouting to find it.
The description is complete. Including measures of the area, with some correct units.
Some of the individuals of the different species have been identified, described and photographed.
Accurate Counting of the individuals. Quadrant not included.
