No. TYPE OF APPOINTMENT INCUMBENT ANZSCO Code DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Communications or equivalent ROLE PURPOSE / CONTEXT Responsible for the delivery of marketing and communications activity which support the achievement of the Department’s objectives by: Effectively communicate and engage the work of the Department with industry, external stakeholders, internal stakeholders and the wider community. Providing insight and support in marketing planning and the provision of tactical marketing activity across the Department. Working closely with the internal Graphic Design team, brief in and produce tactical marketing collateral which meets the needs of DSD, stakeholders, Ministers and the Public. Provide support in the development of PCAG marketing submissions and post activity evaluations. Assisting the Principle Marketing Officer in the development and execution of integrated marketing plans and tactical activity. REPORTING / WORKING RELATIONSHIPS Reports to: Principal Marketing Officer Direct Reports: Nil Stakeholders: Liaises with all levels of management and staff across various divisions and business units within Department. Liaises with Ministers’ offices, interstate counterparts, local, state and commonwealth agencies, universities and research institutes, industry and professional associations, sponsors, suppliers, and contractors. Liaising, advising and consulting with a wide range of contractors, agencies and external suppliers to ensure the delivery of services to required standards within deadlines and within budget Co-coordinating and preparing high quality briefings and other relevant correspondence that provide specialist advice and reflect government priorities. Promote integrated marketing activity and consistent messaging across the departments various communications and digital teams including events, media relations, engagement and social media. Representation of the Department’s position is delivered to relevant committees and working parties. SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS Compliance with Government legislation, Code of Ethics for the SA Public Sector, DSD policies and procedures, including ethical / accountable resources and information management, WHS and injury management, risk management, and the access / equity /diversity strategies of the public sector. Some out of hours work may be required to fulfil the responsibilities of the role. Intra-state and inter-state travel may be required. Participate in recovery activities relating to emergency management. SECTION B: SELECTION CRITERIA TECHNICAL EXPERTISE Sound knowledge of South Australian Public Service processes used to plan, manage and deliver, in conjunction with, stakeholders, all types of marketing activity including; events, sponsorships and publicity activities in a timely and cost effective manner. Knowledge of marketing best practice, theory and up-to-date principles. Knowledge and experience developing marketing plans and evaluations. Knowledge and previous experience of Digital Marketing and Social Media. Knowledge of project management and evaluation processes. PERSONAL ABILITIES Understanding of marketing and communications outcomes and objectives as they relate specifically to broad Department of State Development organisational goals (e.g. international trade, investment, regional migration and the transformation of the South Australian economy). Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and effectively both verbally and in writing with people at all levels including proven ability to consult, liaise and influence, and negotiate and manage conflict with tact and diplomacy. Demonstrated ability to manage time, objectives, strategies and priorities; to plan, organise, implement, progress and coordinate concurrent and responsive projects to meet objectives. Operate under limited direction, identify priorities and achieve quality results in a context of competing priorities and expectations. Model PS Act public sector principles and practices, ethical decision making, WHS and injury management, equity / diversity strategies, and change management. EXPERIENCE Planning, managing and delivering multiple tactical marketing activities simultaneously and within tight deadlines. Assisting in the delivery of high quality marketing and communications material. Developing positive relationships with internal stakeholders, other public and private sector organisations and the business community.
