Letter to Negus
In the Name of Allah the Most Beneficent, the Most
Merciful. From Muhammad the Messenger of Allah
to Negus, king of Abyssinia.
Peace be upon him who follows true guidance.
Salutations, I entertain Allah's praise, there is no
god but He, the Sovereign, the Holy, the Source of
peace, the Giver of peace, the Guardian of faith,
the Preserver of safety. I bear witness that Jesus,
the son of Mary, is the spirit of Allah and His Word
which He cast into Mary, the virgin, the good, the
pure, so that she conceived Jesus. Allah created
him from His spirit and His breathing as He
created Adam by His Hand. I call you to Allah
Alone with no associate and to His obedience and
to follow me and to believe in that which came to
me, for I am the Messenger of Allah I invite you
and your men to Allah the Glorious, the All-Mighty.
I hereby bear witness that I have communicated
my message and advice. I invite you to listen and
accept my advice. Peace be upon him who follows
true guidance
Letter to Heraclius
Translation : I begin with the
name of Allah, the
Compassionate, the most
Merciful. From Muhammad b.
Abdullah the Messenger of God,
to Heraclius the Emperor of Rome
(He was the Emperor of the
Byzantine Empire [610-641] who
captured Syria, Palestine, and
Egypt from Persia [613-628] ).
Peace be upon him who follows
the guidance. I call you to Islam.
Accept Islam and you will be safe.
God will give you your reward
double-fold. If you forsake the
message of God, you will carry
the sin of all your followers.
(Say: "O People of the Book! Come to common terms between us and you: that we
worship none but Allah; that we associate no partners with Him; that we erect not,
from among ourselves, Lords and patrons other than Allah. If then they turn back,
say you: 'Bear witness that we are Muslims (submitting to Allah's Will).) (3:64)
Letter to Heraclius
In the name of Allah the
Beneficent, the Merciful (This
letter is) from Muhammad the
slave of Allah and His Apostle to
Heraclius the ruler of Byzantine.
Peace be upon him, who follows
the right path. Furthermore I invite
you to Islam, and if you become a
Muslim you will be safe, and Allah
will double your reward, and if you
reject this invitation of Islam you
will be committing a sin by
misguiding your Arisiyin
(peasants). (And I recite to you
Allah's Statement:)
"Say (O Muhammad): 'O people of the scripture! Come to a word common to you
and us that we worship none but Allah and that we associate nothing in worship with
Him, and that none of us shall take others as Lords beside Allah.' Then, if they turn
away, say: 'Bear witness that we are Muslims' (those who have surrendered to
Allah)." (3:64)
Letter to Muqawqas
Translation : I begin with the
name of Allah, the
Compassionate, the most
Merciful. From Muhammad b.
Abdullah the Messenger of God to
Muqawqas the Ruler of the
Christians in Egypt. Peace be
upon him who follows the
guidance.
If then they turn back,
say you: 'Bear witness that we are Muslims (submitting to Allah's Will).) (3:64)
Other Letters
Apart from the aforementioned personalities, there are other reported
instances of correspondence. Mundhir bin Sawa, the governor of
Bahrain was apparently an addressee, with a letter having been
delivered to him through `Al-`Ala bin al-Hadrami. Some subjects of the
governor reportedly converted to Islam, whereas others did not.[59] A
similar letter was sent to Hauda bin Ali, the governor of Yamamah, who
replied that he would only convert if he were given a position of authority
within Muhammad's government, a proposition which Muhammad was
unwilling to accept.[59] The current ruler of Damascus, Harith ibn Abi
Shamir al-Ghassani, reportedly reacted less than favourably to
Muhammad's correspondence, viewing it as an insult.[59] Jaifer and
`Abd al-Jalani, two brothers belonging to the ruling Azd tribe in Oman,
converted to Islam in 630 on receiving the letter sent from Muhammad
through Amr ibn al-Aas
MUSAYLIMA’S LETTER AND
THE ANSWER
Musaylima had written to the apostle (Prophet Muhammad):
From Musaylima the apostle of God to Muhammad the
apostle of God. Peace upon you. I have been made partner
with you in authority. To us belongs half the land and to
Quraysh half, but Quraysh are a hostile people...
Then he (Prophet Muhammad) wrote to Musaylima:
From Muhammad the apostle of God to Musaylima the liar.
Peace be upon him who follows the guidance. The earth is
God’s. He lets whom He will of His creatures (to) inherit it
and the result is to the pious...

A Hadith
It is reported by Anas that a man asked the Prophet (Pbuh):
When does the last hour fall? The Prophet (Pbuh) said:
What have you prepared for it? The man said:
I have not prepared much, except that I love Allah and His
messenger.
The Prophet (Pbuh) said:
Everyone will be with those whom he loves.
Anas comments: “I have never seen the Muslims more pleased with
anything after having embraced Islam that with this Hadith.
Related by Abu Dawood, An-Nassaie’, Al-Tirmizi and Al-Bukhari in Al-Adab Al-Mufard.

Bukhari)
“Messenger of Allah, what about a man who loves some people but
cannot match their good deeds?” The Prophet replied: “You, Abu Zarr,
