February 2012 Tammy Barry HR Use: Position Number: HONSM1104 Exempt Status: Exempt Job Level/Band K JOB PURPOSE: Develop and maintain strong relationships within the MGA Insurance Group and broker distribution, leading to increased sales and productivity. Participate in the development of marketing sales strategies to facilitate and promote the sale of Ameritas Group products and services. The incumbent supports and/or works closely with all functions of the Group Division (internal and external sales, marketing, product development, research, competition intelligence, compliance, claims, underwriting, provider network, client services and administration) to ensure efficient and effective sales relationships, marketing strategies and legal compliance. Position Location: Title of supervisor to this position: Manager, Group Marketing Titles of those reporting directly to this position: NA -or- dotted line reporting Group Marketing Assistant Essential Functions: Develop and maintain strong working relationships with sales distribution channels, including assistance with problem resolution. Participate in the development of marketing sales strategies to promote Group Division products and services; successfully implement strategies within sales distribution channels. Display a clear understanding of Ameritas’ product portfolio, potential products and opportunities in the marketplace. Provide input in the product development process based on feedback from sales distributions. Review and utilize compliant and approved marketing and sales material. Build relationships and promote Ameritas products utilizing available tools, technologies and media, including industry tradeshows and conferences. Assist in the management of tradeshow and conference attendance, including event management, preand post-event marketing strategies, and training and management of exhibit personnel. Collaborate and consult with Sales in competitive situations. Facilitate sales training and skills transfer, when needed, to efficiently present and sell Group Division products and services. Assist in the development of training materials and presentations for use in field training meetings. Utilize CRM system (salesforce.com) to log and track pertinent customer information and interaction. Build internal and external relationships across the Group Division to create quality delivery of sales support to MGA and broker distribution channels. Marginal Functions: Manage budget for conferences, tradeshows, broker meetings, travel and related expenses. Provide feedback to management regarding the effectiveness of marketing strategies. Other responsibilities and duties as required. Required Knowledge and Skills: College degree in business or marketing is required or equivalent experience The incumbent will be required to have insurance product knowledge and insurance or financial related selling skills. 8+ years of industry related experience. 5+ years sales and marketing support experience. Demonstrated successes working with cross-functional teams. Self-driven and independent. Demonstrated leadership abilities that nurture strong working relationships. Inquisitive and forward thinking. Excellent written, oral and presentation communication skills. Working Conditions: Office environment. Travel (25%) required.
