No Associate Membership Role in Research Deborah Brouwer RN CNN Research Requires a Team Research Team • Can be physician lead depending on the area of investigation • Can be lead by other members of the Healthcare Team • Can be lead by you – yes any one of us as associate members can conduct research You Need to First Identify the Area to be Researched • Dr Loc talked right before me about topics currently being researched in vascular access – any of those strike your fancy? • Topics can be everyday simple tasks you think can be improved, but don’t have the data Examples of Topics • X‐ray exposure specific to a dialysis vascular access intervention • Infection rates related to the set up or room turnover • Product selection – what process should be used instead of just cost considerations? • Impact of patient comfort measures used during VAC procedures • Patient education done pre‐procedure: can it reduce pain and required use of medications during the procedure? ASDIN 8th Annual Scientific Meeting Examples of Topics- Team Examples of Topics- Team • AVF maturation and development of stenosis – the role of side branches?
